The recent release CMMI® Version 1.2, comprises of CMMI® for Development (CMMI-DEV) and CMMI® for Acquisition (CMMI-ACQ). The CMMI-DEV was released in August 2006. It addresses product and services development processes. CMMI-ACQ was released in November 2007. It addresses supply chain management, acquisition, and outsourcing processes in government and industry.
